We started in Madeira with one idea: a traveller deserves a real local helping them — somebody who picks up the phone, books the right tour, makes sure it goes well.

But we can't put a full team on the ground everywhere in the world. So we built a second product — a curated content guide, written with locals where they exist and experienced travellers where they don't, that gives you the same honest filter without the phone calls. Different product, same DNA.

Why Beyond exists.

"I live in Madeira. I kept seeing travellers arrive, spend days researching, and still end up at the wrong restaurant, on the wrong tour, in the wrong tourist trap. It was frustrating to watch.

So I started telling them: don't go there, go here. Skip that, try this. Took me five minutes. Saved them hours.

In 2024 I put it all on a site — Beyond Madeira. Some people booked through it. Most just used the information. It worked either way. 468 reviews on Google. Five stars.

Travellers kept telling me the same thing: 'this is the only site I needed.' That's when I realised this wasn't just a Madeira thing.
